⏰Monday of the Ninth Week of Ordinary Time 2 (04 June 2018)

📖2 Pet 1:2-7; Ps 91:1-2, 14-15ab, 15c-16 (R.v.2b); Mark 12:1-12

My dear, it is a brand new week, full of promises from God. Listen to this from the Second Letter of St. Peter:
➕”May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord” (2 Pet 1:2), Amen.

I pray that that blessing and even more shall manifest in your life in this week and beyond, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Note that for us to stand a chance of gaining from that blessing, we must cooperate with that grace which has been made available to us by shunning worldly pleasures and corruption, and embracing divine nature (cf. 2 Pet 1:4).

To live on the contrary would be disastrous. Consider what happened to the wicked tenants in Mark 12:1-12. The owner of the vineyard gave them an opportunity to make a just living out of the vineyard, but they blew it up. What a shame!

❌Do you know that I would be like those wicked tenants when I become over-ambitious and deviously damage other people’s image and reputation in order to rise.
❌I would be like the wicked tenants when, governed by selfishness, I hoard what should have been used for the good of all, and use it for myself alone.

The list is endless but, because I want to please God and partake of his blessings, I am not going to be like those wicked tenants. What of you?

May God’s grace be ever sufficient for us so that we can overcome worldly pleasures and embrace divine nature at all times. Amen.

Have a grace-filled and fruitful new week. Peace be with you.
