THE LORD IS COMPASSIONATE AND LOVE (Ps 103:8)

I do not know what is happening in your life right now. You might be passing through a very serious challenge that might have made you to conclude that God does not like you. You might have even reclined into a state of self-pity or thinking that your sins have made God to inflict pains on you.

Don’t be deceived! That is how the devil wants you to feel. He wants you to conceive of the idea of a very wicked God who is always interested in inflicting pains on his subjects. But that is not true.

God is love himself (1 John 4:16) and his banner over us is love (Songs 2:4). Do you not seen his encounter with the disciples in Mark 6:30-31? After they had returned from their day’s job, he did not tell them to come and serve him at the table first as man would do (cf. Luke 17:7-8). He instead took them aside to go and rest and get refreshed.

He too needed that rest for he went with them. But his compassionate heart overtook his desire to rest when he saw a great crowd like sheep without a shepherd (Mark 6:34).

My dear, that is how he is always moved with compassion whenever you are facing challenges. Even if the challenges does not clear immediately, don’t worry, his plans for you is for peace and not disaster, for hope and a future (Jer 29:11). Do not allow anything distract you from focusing on him.

May the God of peace equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in you that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I wish you a joyful and restful weekend. It is well with you.
