“BE STRONG, FEAR NOT!” (Isa 35:4)

⏰Monday of the Second Week of Advent (11 December 2023)

📖Isa 35:1-10; Ps 85:9ab and 10, 11-12, 13-14, (R. Isa 35:4ff); Luke 5:17-26

“BE STRONG, FEAR NOT!” (Isa 35:4)

It is my birthday, a day I always celebrated my mother in a special way and thank God for saving her life some years ago as she was giving birth to me. Providentially, she is with God now, and I am sure God will throw a party for her today. Kindly join me in praying that this vision of mine for her will be real. May her soul rest in peace. Amen

Pray for me also that I may receive more strength and zeal from God to carry the Good news of salvation to all who are distressed and in danger of perishing in sin. May I also not lose my own soul in the end. Amen.

Talking about the good news, beloved friend, God wants you to begin this new work week with smiles and strong faith in him; do not allow anything to rob you of that. Learn from the determination of the friends of this paralytic in Luke 5:18-26. The crowd proved to be an obstacle to them but they still found a way to reach Jesus through the roof.

There can be a lot of crowds trying to prevent us from seeing Jesus:
👉The current economic hardship that left us without hope for the future;
👉That doctor’s report that says that you have an incurable disease;
👉That your boss or lecturer who has sworn to make your life miserable;
👉That business of yours that has refused to move on despite all your efforts;
👉That death of your loved one that makes you feel that the world has come to an end, etc.

Listen! St. Paul says, even in the midst of all these, you are more than a conqueror (Rom 8:37). May you conquer every spirit that will try to hinder your progress henceforth, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

It is therefore not a coincidence that the salvation oracle of Isaiah (Isa 35:1-10) is also presented to us today. Scholars believe that this oracle belong to the latter Isaiah which has a reversal and restoration message for the people. As it was for them, so shall it be for you. May God reverse all your ugly situations and restore his glory upon your life. Amen.

Just be calm and continue walking on the way of firmness and righteousness. In that case, God will raise up even your enemies to work for your good. Amen.

As you pray for me today, also pray for my cousin, Sr. Christy, my colleagues Frs. Cyril Basikoro and Edwin Ezeokeke and a spiritual daughter of mine, Oyindamola, all of whom share that day with me.

Have a week of continual open doors and breakthroughs. Peace be with you.
