“RISE, TAKE YOUR BED AND GO HOME” (Matt 9:6)
⏰Thursday of the Thirteenth Week of Ordinary Time 2 (05 July 2018)
đź“–Amos 7:10-17; Ps 19:8, 9, 10, 11 (R.v.10b); Matt 9:1-8
Hello dear, how is life treating you? Good as you want? Then give thanks to God. Otherwise, still never lose hope. Believe that God has not forgotten you. No matter how hopeless the situation might appear in human eye now, he is not done with you yet.
Remember that Jesus said that even our little faith can move mountains (cf. Matt 17:20). We can see an instance of that in the faith of the friends of the paralyzed man, which got him the desired healing (cf. Matt 9:1-8).
Comparing that pericope (Matt 9:1-8) with its Markan parallel (Mark 2:1-12), we shall see that those friends of the paralyzed man also faced some hitches but they never allowed that to affect their faith.
How do you normally manage life challenging situations that come your way daily? Are you among those who would readily abandon God in search of an already-made solutions from the devil?
The psalmist said those who put their trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion that cannot be shaken but stands forever (Ps 125:1). And the prophet Isaiah said that “[they] will renew their strength…soar as with eagle’s wings…run and not grow weary…walk and never grow tired” (Isa 40:31).
So do not allow disappointments and failures to push you into sin because the consequence of sin is death (cf. Amos 7:10-17) but the consequence of faith is restoration (cf. Matt 9:1-8).
May the Lord increase our faith so that we may love and trust him above all things, and so gain all the good things we desire from him. Amen.
Have a healthy and joyful day ahead. Peace be with you.
