DO NOT LOOK BACK; FOCUS ON JESUS!
⏰Tuesday of the Thirteenth Week of Ordinary Time 1 (04 July 2017)
????Gen 19:15-29; Ps 26:2-3, 9-10, 11-12 (R.v.3a); Matt 8:23-27
My dear, one of the evidences of the power of Jesus which we get from scriptures is the calming of the storm, the seat of evil power in Matt 8:23-27. That Jesus calmed the storm means that he has power over the evil powers. Remember that all powers belong to him (Matt 28:18).
Hence, St. Paul said that in Christ, we are more than conquerors (Rom 8:37). St John added that he that is in us is more powerful than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Hence, Jesus is all that you need. Do not allow the affairs of this world to distract you.
We must learn from the experience of Lot’s wife. She defied the Angel’s instruction to them not to look back (Gen 19:17); her mind was in Sodom and Gomorrah and so she was destroyed with it by turning to a pillar of salt (cf. Gen 19:26).
Sodom was destroyed in the first place because of their great sin (cf. Gen 18:20), and the sin which was mentioned about them is homosexuality (cf. Gen 19:5). That is a warning for those who feel that they can change the original creation of God from male and female (Gen 1:27) into choosing gay as a way of life. All those involved in that and those who support them are calling for destruction.
However, if you are able to stick to God like Abraham, you shall be blessed and also be a blessing to those around you (see Gen 19:29).
May Jesus who is the way (John 14:6) lead you along the right path to your place of success and victory, and in the end lead you into eternal life. Amen.
Have a blessed day ahead. Peace be with you.
thank’s for your wonderfu homilyl
