FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE – THE GREATEST IS LOVE (1 Cor 13:13)

⏰Saturday of the Eighteenth Week of Ordinary Time (11 August 2017)

????Deut 6:4-13; Ps 18:2-3a, 3bc-4, 47 and 51ab (R.v.2a); Matt 17:14-20

“Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise” (Deut 6:4-5).

That is self explanatory, isn’t it? That is the Creed of the Hebrews as we have the Apostles’ Creed today. A Creed is an expression of faith. This faith is what Jesus demands of us today in Matt 17:14-20. Faith can give us the authority to be able to move mountains, yet it it is love that would enable us to take a step towards the mountain.

My dear, do you love God with all your heart as much as you go to Church? Does that love spur you to righteousness and faithful discipleship of Christ? Do you instruct others by your words and deeds to also love God as much?

May the love of God and God’s people move us to seek after the spiritual and material well being of those we are sent to redeem. Amen.

Have a lovely and miraculous weekend. Peace be with you.
