“WISDOM IS A SPOTLESS MIRROR OF THE WORKING OF GOD AND AN IMAGE OF HIS GOODNESS” (Wis 7:26)
⏰Thursday of the Thirty-Second Week of Ordinary Time 1 (16 Nov. 2017)
????Wis 7:22 – 8:1; Ps 119:89, 90, 91, 130, 135, 175 (R.v.89a); Luke 17:20-25
Do you think that those who play games in evil and succeed are wise? If we understand that wisdom is a gift of God (cf. Isa 11:2), then, it won’t be difficult for us to understand that nothing evil can be associated with wisdom. Wisdom orders us towards virtues (see Wis 7:22 – 8:1).
Therefore, at those times when I cheat people in the market and succeed in making big gain, or those times I get myself involved in sexual immoralities without getting involved in scandals or being infected with diseases, or those times I deceitfully divert people’s fortune to myself, I am not being wise, it is the devil that is working on and through me.
Anyone who possesses wisdom should not be worried about what comes hereafter because he is with God. Such a person would not be a victim of false prophets and false teachers who claim to receive visions of end time from God.
By the way, anyone who starts to give you those end time visions must be approached with suspicion because he/she makes the word of God untrue (cf. Luke 17:20-25). In Jesus lies the revelation of the kingdom of God and the time of its manifestation. What is simply required of us is to be prepared at all times because we do not know the hour (cf. Matt 24:42-44).
May God also grant us wisdom which will help us to be united with him at all times here on earth, and also be with him in the end. Amen.
Have a grace filled day. Peace be with you.
