WHO AM I BEFORE GOD?

⏰Wednesday of the Fifth Week in Ordinary Time Year 2 (7 February 2018)

????1 Kgs 10:1-10; Ps 37:5-6, 30-31, 39-40 (R.v.30a); Mark 7:14-23

We ended our reflection yesterday with a call to allow our lives be transformed by the faith which we profess. The crisis we normally observe among Christians today is that of hypocrisy. It is hard these days to get Christians whose lifestyle could easily be connected to their Christian faith.

This is a time of self-evaluation for me. After listening to the words from my mouth, do people give glory to God, whose priest I am as the queen of Sheba did after listening to Solomon? Or is my speech normally filled with vulgar languages and immoral thoughts? Beyond my speech, does my life reflect the gospel that I preach? I encourage you to do same for yourself too.

Do you know why Jesus has been paying attention to what happens in our hearts? It is because that is the part of us which God will pay attention to on the last day. Hence, we encouraged ourselves yesterday to build a home for Christ in our hearts so that, on the judgement day, God will see his beloved Son in us pleading on our behalf.

To begin, we must immediately fill our hearts with godly thought and purge ourselves of all which are not of God. When was the last time you confessed your sins? If the Lord calls you now, will God be pleased with what he shall find in your heart?

Let us pray: Cleanse me Lord to be worthy of you. Purify the intentions of my heart that I may reflect you in my words and actions. Let me never be separated from you in life and in death. Amen.

Have a blessed and grace-filled day ahead. Peace be with you.
