“HE WHO HEARS THE WORD AND UNDERSTANDS IT; HE INDEED BEARS FRUIT” (Matt 13:23)
⏰Friday of the Sixteenth Week of Ordinary Time 1 (28 July 2017)
????Exod 20:1-17; Ps 19:8, 9, 10, 11 (R. John 6:68c); Matt 13:18-23
Where is the Word of God planted in your life? How is it growing up in you? Does it have a rich soil in you to germinate?
As we already have seen, what determines the kind of soil we provide for the growth of the word of God in us is our disposition. It is about what we understand about it and how we do so.
There are some of us who only believes because the pastor says so. They are not convinced within themselves about the message but since an authority believes in it, they don’t mind accepting it. The crisis in view here is that the word of God will never have tap root in them. In that case, any new mentor can sweep them off from the right path.
God wants us to have a perfect and convincing understanding of him so that we can bear much fruits. That is the essence of the ten commandments. The ten commandments help us to understand God better and know how we are expected to behave as members of his household.
So we pray that the Holy Spirit may open up our minds to understand the precepts of God for our lives and religiously follow them so as to bear good fruits of eternal life. Amen
I wish you a fruitful day ahead. Peace be with you.
