🎤GIVE JESUS A CHANCE!
There is something very spectacular that takes place in the Catholic Church today. There is once again a change in the liturgical colour as we begin fully the Ordinary time of the Year. The green colour which is a sign of vegetation reappears. See in that an assurance that with God on your side, whatever you lay your hands on shall be fruitful (cf. Gen 1:28). Amen.
Also see in it an invitation from Christ himself that you may go out and bear fruit that will last (cf. John 15:16).
Meanwhile, the “Ordinary Time of the Year” is so called not because it is less important than other seasons, but because of the orderly way it is arranged into 34 weeks.
Having said that, recall that in Matt 28:18, Jesus had exclaimed, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” That is not just a mere claim because when Jesus was exercising his ministry, the people could feel that authority oozing from him (Mark 1:22).
Even the evil spirit perceived it and cried out, “Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God” (Mark 1:23-24). Why not! Did he not walk over the sea (Mark 6:49) which is the seat of power of the evil one?
The people who saw him bore this witness of him, “With authority he commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him” (Mark 1:27). He also has the authority to change your situation to the better if only you can give him a chance.
Listen to him now! He is telling that your ugly situation that has given you sleepless nights, “Be silent, and come out of him” (Mark 1:25).
May you receive consolation and transformation in the presence of the Lord, today and beyond, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Have a grace-filled day. It is well with you.
