“FEAR NOT, STAND FIRM, AND SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD” (Exod 14:13)
⏰Monday of the Sixteenth Week of Ordinary Time 1 (19 July 2021)
📖Exod 14:5-18; Exod 15:1-2, 3-4, 5-6 (R.v.1a); Matt 12:38-42
Again, at the beginning of this new work week, I remember that artwork I saw first on Facebook which has the following inscriptions: DON’T TELL GOD THAT YOU HAVE A BIG PROBLEM; TELL YOUR PROBLEM THAT YOU HAVE A BIG GOD!
When God had delivered the Israelites from Egypt, the Egyptians soon realised that they were going to miss their services, and so pursued them (cf. Exod 14:5ff). So, as the Israelites saw themselves trapped the Red Sea and the Egyptians, they became disheartened and began to complain (Exod 14:10-12).
Do you also have conditions that place you in a dangerous trap like the Israelites? God is telling you today, through the mouth of Moses, not to be afraid because the Lord will fight for you and save you (Exod 14:13-14).
Do not doubt God and begin to test him as the scribes and the Pharisees who were asking for a sign from Jesus before they would believe (Matt 12:38). Have faith in God for he never fails.
May he never fail you as you place all your hopes in him. Amen
Have a fruitful and grace-filled work week. Peace be with you.
Amen. Thank you fr. God bless you.
Amen and with your spirit
