⏰Friday of the Fifth Week in Ordinary Time Year 2 (9 February 2018)

????1 Kgs 11:29-32, 12:19; Ps 81:10-11ab, 12-13, 14-15 (R.v.11a, 9a); Mark 7:31-37

My dear, the scriptures, in Lam 3:37 asks, “Who can command and execute what the Lord has not decreed?” The answer is very obvious, “nobody!” Yes! Nobody can safely do that and go unpunished. Solomon tried it and the result was the division of the kingdom of Israel. So it brings no good to anyone who tries such.

Remember that one way that we do that is through sin. Sin is disobedience to the decrees of God. Through sin, we bring destruction to ourselves and live in pains instead of dwelling in in the joy of the Lord.

However, for anyone who chooses to be obedient to God, one thing is sure, the Lord will always open doors for him which no power can close (cf. Rev 3:7). That means, with God, there is no difficulty that cannot be surmounted. Remember the experience of the Israelites when they got to the Red Sea. They thought that it was the end of the road for them, but God showed them that he is in charge.

I pray that God may also come into your life at this moment and show you once more that he is in charge of everything about you. May he open doors of faithfulness, blessings and favour which no force can shut so that the joy of serving him may never elude you. Amen.

You shall be blessed with breakthroughs and open doors today. Amen. Peace be with you.
