🎤”WISDOM DOES NOT ENTER THE WICKED SOUL” (Wisdom 1:4)

In Sirach 51:12-20, the wise man tells us how he prayerfully sought wisdom. The attitude he put up was that of humility, trust, repentance and reverence. He made this search as if his life depended on it.

Indeed, his life depended on it! This is because the scriptures normally compares wisdom as the same as God. In fact, 1 Cor 1:24 declares Jesus as the power and wisdom of God.

Unfortunately, the chief priests and the scribes in Mark 11:27-33 were with Jesus, the wisdom of God. But instead of asking to gain this wisdom, they started questioning his authority to purify their worship. In their wickedness of heart, they preferred to be left in their rottenness than to be purified.

Fellow pilgrim, we cannot achieve much in life without wisdom. We cannot equally achieve wisdom with a wicked soul. We are all encouraged to free our hearts of all wickedness and plots to run other people down for our wicked and selfish gains.

What is the need for endless strife and wicked ambitions when the world is a vast land with numerous opportunities to accommodate all of us?

May the Lord save us from the hands of the evil ones and grant us the grace to stay away from wickedness ourselves. Amen.

Have a very restful weekend. Peace be with you.
