IN THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD, THERE IS FULLNESS OF JOY (cf. Ps 16:11)
????2 Sam 6:12b-15, 17-19; Ps 24:7, 8, 9, 10 (R.v.8ab); Mark 3:31-35
????When I come into your presence, I am so happy;
When I come into your presence, I am so glad;
In your presence there is anointing, and the spirit moves around me;
In your presence, anointing breaks the yoke.????
There is nothing as beautiful as being in the presence of God and having God in your life. For the people of Israel, the Ark of the Covenant is a sign of the presence of God. When this Ark was placed in the house of Obededom, the Lord blessed him and his household (2 Sam 6:11). When David heard of that, he thought of bringing the same blessing to his entire city. So their joy and dancing (cf. 2 Sam 6:14-15) were informed by the presence of God and the expectations of his blessings.
Where are you at the moment? Are you in the presence of God or far away from it?
Being in the Church is not necessarily the same as being in the presence of God. To be in the presence of God demands openness to the will of God and willingness to keep it. That is what enables us to become one with Jesus and be disposed to gain his blessings.
The Blessed Virgin Mary was open to the will of God and was able to keep it. That was how she first became the Mother of Jesus, who is God before giving birth to him biologically.
Jesus is inviting us today to rise beyond mere attendance to Church and begin to be in his presence even in your room, in your place of work, along the road, etc. Do the will of God at all times, he will bless you and give you joy.
May the Lord strengthen our faith in him and our resolution to remain in his so that he may bless us and grant us joy and peace in his presence forever. Amen.
Have a blessed and joyful day ahead. Peace be with you.
