YOU ARE A VICTOR IN CHRIST JESUS

⏰Monday of the Seventh Week of Easter (25 May 2020)

📖Acts 19:1-8; Ps 68:2-3, 4-5ac, 6-7b (R.v.33a); John 16:29-33

My dear, we surely need the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that enables us to courageously offer ourselves to be crucified at the foot of the Cross of Jesus so that we may reap the benefits of his resurrection without any obstruction.

The Holy Spirit enables us to understand the words that Christ speaks to us just like the disciples in the Gospel of John 16:29-33 so that we may have a share in his victory over the world.

Jesus already warned us that our faith in him would attract the wrath of the world because we are not of the world (cf. John 15:18-21, 16:2). The world here stands for the forces of evil which stand in opposition to the work of salvation. So, Christ has not promised us that it is going to be easy for us.

But know this, child of God, you are a victor in Christ our Lord! (cf. Rom 8:33). Our faith in Christ gives us that privilege and it is the Holy Spirit who enables us to have that faith (cf. Rom 8:15). If you are part of this faith, then join the Psamist in Psalm 68 to sing this song of victory:

(s¹/m.m:-/ .m:r.d/r.r:-)

God rises, His foes are scattered

And all who hate him must flee away

They melt like wax in fire,

But all the just can dance and say.

Halleluiah (2ce).

May such be your song of victory in this new working week and beyond. Amen.

Remain ever blessed and joyful in the Lord. Peace be with you.
