THE LORD DOES NOT FORGET THE POOR
⏰Saturday of the Fifteenth Week of Ordinary Time 2 (21 July 2018)
đź“–Micah 2:1-5; Ps 10:1-2, 3-4a, 7-8b, 14 (R.v.12b); Matt 12:14-21
The situation in Judah at the time that the prophet Micah prophesied was similar to that in the Northern Kingdom when Amos and Hosea prophesied. The rich were using their wealth power to oppress the poor. The Lord, who always listens to the cry of the poor then warned through the prophet Micah that he would soon punish those who perpetrate this evil (cf. Mic 2:5).
Can you see how God is mindful of the poor? In Matt 12:14-21, with the Pharisees’ plot to kill him, he withdrew to a district where the poor, the sick and the outcasts of the society lived. There he began to help them because he had come for the sick.
Are you in any kind of suffering? Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? He is always ready to listen and care for you.
By the way, I hope you are not among those that oppress the poor and the less privileged. Hmmm, if you are, begin to run for your life before the anger of the Lord comes.
I pray that God may assist you in any way of deficiency and plead your course in time of oppression. Amen.
Have a beautiful weekend in the presence of God. Amen. Peace be with you.
