SACRED HEART OF LOVE
⏰Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Year B (08 June 2018)
📖Hos 11:1, 3-4, 8c-9; Isa 12:2-3, 4bcde, 5-6 (R.v.3); Eph 3:8-12, 14-19; John 19:31-37
In the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we celebrate love. The Heart of Jesus is the heart of love. Jesus is God and God is love (1 John 4:16). It then means that Jesus is love.
In his apparition to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in France, Jesus said, poirt which has so loved men that it has spared nothing to testify its love for them, even to the exhausting and consuming of itself for their sake.”
The height of the expression of this great love is seen on the cross when he declared, “It is finished” (John 19:30). And to make that love ever available, a soldier pierced his side, just beneath his heart. From there flows always, as long as his heart continues to beat, blood and water, symbols of life and purity (cf. John 19:34).
Meanwhile, that expression on the cross means that your problems and troubles and worries are finished. The devil has no power over you. Jesus has won the victory and won the salvation for you and me out of love.
This love is God’s gratuitous gift, which enables us to go beyond the restrictions of human knowledge and embrace divine principles in our relationship with others. That is why St. Paul prays that we may grow deeper in the understanding of that divine love (cf. Eph 3:8-19).
Unfortunately, we have most times been unfaithful and ungrateful to his generosity of love. Yet, he does not get angry with us, but continues to draw us to himself (cf. Hos 11:1-9).
He loves you and wants to love you always. Are you ready to love him in return?
May to love him in return?
May his love always be upon you as you place all your trust in him. Amen.
Have a lovely celebration of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus today. Peace be with you dear.
