????LOST BUT FOUND
Have you ever lost something very important to you and later found it? I bet you have. How did you feel when you found it? I believe it was a great experience. I wish you could take your mind back to one of such experiences. Did you not feel upset?
The psalmist said that God created us for himself and we belong to him (Ps 100:3). But sin separates us from God (Isa 59:2) in the same way one sheep is separated from the ninety-nine or the coin is lost (Luke 15:4, 8), and in the way we lose one treasure or another.
Can you see why Jesus was going closer to the tax collectors and sinners? He wants to bring them back to their father’s house, hence healing the wound that the separation has created. Jesus has not stopped searching for us, the lost sheep. The question is whether we shall be disposed to respond and be reunited with God.????????
Detachment is a major catalyst that encourages that disposition. Like St Paul (Phil 3:3-8), we need to let down our ego “because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus [our] Lord.”????
St Martin de Porres was an epitome of that detachment. He was always thinking of the good of others even at the expense of his own comfort. There was a story told about him on how he used to help the poor with the money his mother was giving him for an errand. He lived himself for others.????????
He belonged to a class that were considered as ‘not-fully-humans’ (negroes) but at his death, all those who considered themselves as ‘men of ranks’ in the society turned out to carry him to his grave.????
Do you see? If you live for Christ, even those who looked down upon you in the past would begin to give testimonies with your name.????
Jesus is searching for you, my dear. Do not allow the cares and challenges of this life to hide you farther away from him.????
May God give us the grace to be among the number he will find and for whom the reunion party would be called in his kingdom. Amen????????
I wish you fulfilled day of breakthroughs and uncountable blessings. It is well with you.????????
Amen fr, but Father l want to add you back on Facebook
