“GO INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE WHOLE CREATION” (Mark 16:15)

📕Acts 4:13-21; Ps 118:1 and 14-15ab, 15c-18, 19-21 (R.v.21a); Mark 16:9-15

If it was hard for the disciples, who were members of Jesus’ inner caucus to understand the resurrection of Jesus, imagine how harder it would be for those who were outside that circle. That is why evangelization is a necessity to them, and by extension, to us. To be able to bear true witness to the Gospel, we need to be authentic and humble.

Imagine uneducated disciples performing miracles and teaching the people sound theology which the learned leaders of the Jews – priests, scribes and Pharisees – could not match (Acts 4:1-21). The simple reason is that the disciples work and teach in Jesus’ name and not in themselves. The Jewish leaders on their own part were too proud and jealous to accept that God could work through lowly men as the disciple and so tried to stop them (cf. Acts 4:13-18).

Don’t ever forget that whatever you have, even your successes come from God, and you will be humble. HUMILITY PAYS; PRIDE SMELLS.

Moreover, pride and self-interest can motivate us to cover the truth and embrace falsehood (cf. Acts 4:13-18).

We pray that God may help us to embrace the virtue of humility in our daily living especially when people that we count as nothing do wonderful things. Amen.

Have a beautiful and peaceful weekend spent in union with God in humility. Peace be with you.
