BLESSED THE MAN WHO HAS PLACED HIS TRUST IN THE LORD (Ps 40:5)

⏰Thursday of the Twenty-Seventh Week of Ordinary Time 1 (12 October 2017)

????Mal 3:13 – 4:2a; Ps 1:1-2, 3, 4 and 6 (Ps 40:5ab); Luke 11:5-13

Prov 23:17 says, Do not let your heart be envious of sinners. The Book of the prophet Malachi gives us a very familiar situation of things that we normally see around us the wicked prospering while the just wallow in poverty. But doom awaits the wicked in the end (cf. Mal 3:13 4:2).

Hence, no matter how tough life becomes for us, we must never follow the way of the wicked so that we are not doomed with the wicked. Even if there is in any way we have derailed in the past, we can always retrace our footsteps back to him, who is ever ready to welcome and forgive us as he did to the Ninevites.

We only need to stick to him, knowing that he will never fail to give us the good things we need from him. All we need is perseverance (cf. Luke 11:5-13).

May we be like that plant that is planted beside the flowing waters, which is ever greenish and bears good fruits in due season (Ps 1:3), as we place all our trust in him. Amen.

Happy a blessed day in the presence of the Lord. Peace be with you.
