“ANGELS ON GUARD! KEEP OFF!”

⏰Memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels (02 October 2017)

????Exod 23:20-23; Ps 91:1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 10-11 (R.v.11); Matt 18:1-5, 10

Have you seen the above inscriptions before? Do you think that it is coined by over-religious people? Better have a rethink because there are indeed angels around you who keep watch over you to protect you. They are called the guardian angels.

The term ‘angel’ comes from the Greek word, ‘angelos,’ which is a translation of the Hebrew word, “mal’ak” meaning “messengers.” So in the real sense, they are messengers of God who serve God’s purpose. In this light, they serve us in three major capacities: They guide us, protect us and pray for us before God.

In Exodus 23:20-23, God promised to send his angels before the people to lead them on into the land he has prepared for them. In the same way, as we begin this first working week in this new month of October today, I pray that God may send his angels to you to lead you to the blessings he has prepared for you this month and beyond. Amen.

The psalmist reported in Psalm 91:11 that God will command his angels to guard you in all your ways. If you are yet to believe this, see the testimony of Daniel in Dan 6:22, “My God sent his angel who closed the lions’ mouths so that they did not hurt me.” May this type of testimony be yours also in this month and beyond. Amen.

In case somebody has contested the possibility of angels pleading for you before God, never let that bother you. Even Jesus acknowledged that himself about the children (cf. Matt 18:10). Remember, you are a child of God. Just try to remain so by being sinless.

If you believe, join me in this prayer:
“Angel of God, my faithful guardian; to whose care God has entrusted me, guide me, direct me, guard me and protect me, this day and beyond. Amen.”

I wish you a joyful day under the protective presence of your guardian angel. Peace be with you.
