DO NOT FALL FROM GRACE TO GRASS

⏰Thursday of the Twenty-Seventh Week of Ordinary Time 2 (06 October 2016)

📕Gal 3:1-5; Luke 1:69-70, 71-72, 73-75 (R.v.68); Luke 11:5-13

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you. Amen.

The outburst of St Paul in Gal 3:1-5 obviously indicates that some Galatians were already yielding to the deception of those Jews who insisted on the circumcision of the gentiles before they could become Christians (cf. Gal 1:7; Acts 15:1). They were more contented with pleasing man than with pleasing God.

What happens to us when the conventional society tries to impose things that are morally degrading upon us under the disguise of something “en vogue“?

To be in line with things ‘en vogue‘ these days,

❌A girl has to put on clothes that show her naked to be appealing to men;

❌An employer or a boss must take advantage of job seekers or his workers in cash or in kind before assisting them;

❌An undergraduate must be a cultist in order to survive;

❌What of the game rights act and the legalization of abortion?

Whatever way the devil suggests to us that we cannot survive without yielding to him, we must try to persevere in righteousness knowing that God will never abandon us even when the world tries to break down upon us.

In Luke 11:5-13, Jesus teaches us the importance of persevering in prayers. So trust him when he says that whatever you ask the Father in his name, the Father will give you (John 16:23).

Ask him today for the grace of persevering in righteousness in the corrupt and evil society. May you always emerge victorious against temptations. Amen

Have a very joyful day. Peace be with you.
